Trump let it slip that he would look at negative information on one or more of his Democratic opponents provided by foreign interests going into the 2020 presidential election. All of the Republicans who are loyal Trump sycophants - i.e., most of them - shrugged, even though what Trump accepted as standard campaign practice is illegal. Trump walked back his comments, and Secretary of State Mike Pompeo brushed off Trump's apparent willingness to accept help from his Russian buddies altogether, saying that the Donald will do the right thing when anyone named Vladimir or Nikolai (and it should be noted that Lenin used both names) gives him a dossier on Biden or Warren or O'Rourke or even Wayne Messam by handing it over to the FBI.
Right after he reads it, I assume.
Meanwhile, new polling suggest that Democrats don't have to consider fighting fire with fire by asking for help from Macron or Justin Trudeau or the European Union or any other non-Americans who want to see Trump bite the dust - i.e., again, most of them. Polls from various sources - including Fox News - show Joe Biden with a comfortable lead over Trump, and other Democratic presidential candidates lead or are competitive with Trump as well. At this point, the economy could produce full employment and exponentially rising wages, but it's becoming obvious that people are getting tired of Trump and would rather elect someone else President just so they don't have to hear him anymore. Caveat: A lot of of people may be tired of Trump, but I can name several celebrities people were tired of but who had enough fans who kept coming back for more. And, despite his deceptively unexciting background as a real estate developer and as an entrepreneurial capitalist, Trump, like any actor or pop singer, is nothing if not a celebrity.
