Laurie David, wife of comedian Larry David, put together a comedy and music concert of various celebrities - Robin Williams, Steve Martin, Eric Idle, Ben Stiller, among others - to raise awareness about global warming and to help save the planet by putting pressure on the Senate to ratify the Kyoto Protocol. The show was broadcast on the TBS cable channel. Mrs. David is apparently hoping that more people will take the environment seriously.
Such altruism would have made more sense if it had taken place somewhere other than Las Vegas, the most environmentally destructive city in America. :-(
