Boring Stories You May Have Missed

I guess you've heard about Scott Peterson's death sentence and the "not guilty" verdict in the Robert Blake trial. Well, in case you were transfixed by these stories, here are a few things you may have missed:
The United States Senate voted 51 to 49 to approve of drilling for oil in Alaska's pristine Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. A good chunk of ecologically sensitive acreage is now ripe for exploitation.
Assistant Defense Secretary Paul Wolfowitz, the architect of the Iraq War and the protector of American corporate interests while ambassador to Indonesia, has been named by George W. Bush to head the World Bank, an organization meant to help poor Third World countries.
The United States House of Representatives voted to give Bush more money to fund the war in Iraq - without the need for an exit strategy.
Yeah, these stories are boring. But, as Paul McCartney once said, if we don't get boring we're going to get dead! :-O
