What I'm Reading

On my nighttable: Larry McMurtry's "Dead Man's Walk," a prequel to "Lonesome Dove" about the early days of Gus McCrae and Woodrow Call. So far, it's a spirited read. Among the other novels I've recently read: Thomas McGuane's tragically comic "The Cadence of Grass," Margaret Drabble's "The Millstone," and James Howard Kunstler's "Maggie Darling," a comic novel about a Martha Stewart-type character.
More later . . ..
