After a week of spleen venting, I'd like to close this Saturday, this New Year's Day, on an upbeat note.
PBS aired the annual Vienna orchestral concert celebrating the new year, with Walter Cronkite as host. It featured great Johann Strauss music, some lovely waltz dancing, and shots of beautiful Austrian scenery, from the Vienna Woods to the magnificent castles of Vienna itself.
The hills are indeed alive with the sound of music. Happy New Year! :-)
