Total Retraction

In my August 7 post, I said that Arnold Schwarzenegger would be the first foreign-born governor of a U.S. state if he is elected in October. Not true. Madeline Kunin, who was born in Switzerland, served as governor of Vermont in the eighties.

P.S. Although presidential candidate Howard Dean is referred to as "Governor Dean" by some in the media, he stepped down as governor of Vermont in January. Vermont's current governor is a fellow by the name of James Douglas, who is not running for President! :-)
