Tonight's entry is devoted to random thoughts about pies:
How come we can make pies out of sour fruits like lemon and lime, but there's no such thing as a pie made from grapes?
In the Spinners hit "Games People Play," the bass singer sings a lyric that goes "twelve forty-five," but sounds like "a porridge pie." Two questions: Is porridge pie something Goldilocks would eat? And why did producer Thom Bell give this guy a solo when he obviously has trouble making himself understood?
Why, "Mom and apple pie?" What's wrong with Mom and cherry pie?
If "pi" (3.14159) is a legitimate number, why don't we count it? Why not 1, 2, 3, pi, 4? And would 23.14159 be twenty-pi? :-D
Okay, now I'm getting really silly . . ..
