Two more things I don't get:

The Eurovision Song Contest. Considering the dearth of popular music talent in continental Europe, don't you think the Brits win would every year, except when the Irish would win? And when the Brits do win, how do they win with acts like Queen and Katrina and the Waves?

And, since `tis the season -

People who put up Christmas stockings for their pets. This would include my sister. What's the point, anyway - how could a cat or dog open the stupid stocking in the first place?!?
