Getting Into the Holidays

It seems like I'm finally getting into the Christmas season. My mother and I should be finishing up the tree soon; I'm putting on the ornaments as soon as she puts up the garland, and that's it. (Putting up the lights was a pain in the neck for both of us, but mostly for Mom!) I'm going to try to bake chocolate chip cookies over the weekend (it just ain't Christmas without them), and I just ordered Frango candies from Chicago! Yum!

And, of course, my mother and I will be together once again for the holidays. Since my grandmother died, Mom and I have only each other now. But we're grateful for at least that.
