She was an acerbic writer, a quick wit, and an actress who excelled in roles other than the role that made her famous . . . Princess Leia Organa in the original 1977 Star Wars movie.
We all knew that Carrie Fisher who died today following complications from a heart attack, was more thank just Debbie Reynolds' daughter. We all knew that she'd had her personal problems, some of those problems - including alcoholism and bipolar disorder -bordering on demons that needed to be conquered. She made it through a lot of adversity . . . the fact that she died at only sixty years of age makes it all the more anticlimactic. The coincidence of her death a week and a half after the premiere of Star Wars: Rogue One, which is the immediate prequel to the original Star Wars film, makes this news even more difficult to bear than it already was.
I wish I had more to add . . . RIP.
