Cruz Out of Control

Ted Cruz is a dirty liar.
The U.S. Senator from Texas and Republican presidential candidate pulled a nasty trick on Iowa caucus goers in order to win the Republican contest in that state   He sent a message to his supporters that his rival Ben Carson was withdrawing as a presidential candidate, based on a CNN report, knowing that they could relay the information to Carson supporters and get them to accept Cruz as a second choice.
Except that he misrepresented CNN's reporting.  The news channel reported that Dr. Carson was taking a break from campaigning and going to his home in Florida, then visiting Washington for the national prayer breakfast.  Not once did CNN report that Carson was quitting the race.
Cruz tried to blame CNN for the fracas, saying, "My political team saw CNN's report breaking news and they forwarded that news to our volunteers, it was being covered on live television."  He also said that CNN had inaccurately reported that Dr. Carson was suspending his campaign "from 6:30 p.m. to 9:15," and "didn't correct that story until 9:15 that night."
The news network was not amused.  "That is false," CNN replied.  "CNN never reported that Carson was suspending his campaign and never issued a correction, because there was no need to do so."
Cruz won the Iowa Republican caucuses by foul.  He deliberately distorted a news report to weaken his closest rival for Iowa's lucrative evangelical vote,  and then he tried to lie about his lie.  This man shouldn't even be running for dog catcher, never mind the Presidency.  He's done two things I never thought was possible; first, he's proven himself to be a worse scumbag than Scott Walker.
And, he actually has me feeling sorry for Ben Carson!
