Out

I had to do some advance work on this blog for some posts I have that are planned for this weekend.  Although the forecast for northern New Jersey called for less snow than originally expected (and we got no snow at all, lucking out again this month!), I know it was going to be very windy today (Wednesday), and without ample time after today to work on the posts I'd planned, I worked on them last night, because I knew there was a chance of my electricity going out in high winds (as it sometimes does) today.  The electricity did not go out today.
But it did go out for half a second last night while I was in the middle of working on one of my posts - and when it came back on,  I could see the streetlight flickering and struggling to stay on.  There was no wind last night.  And, there was no sign of precipitation of any sort.  In fact, there was nothing going on last night.
I got my work done all right, but I felt kind of dumb trying to accomplish something before inclement weather threatened the electricity, only to have it go out momentarily with no inclement weather to speak of at the time.
And that makes 2014 the fifth straight calendar year in which we've had at least one outage.  Thank you, PSE&G.

Oh yeah, this is the 24th outage my house has had since the start of 2010.
