Real Loss, Fake Victory

I'm back online while reconstructing my PC after having to reset it to point zero and start over.  Which is what Wisconsin Democrats will have to do with themselves now.  But how the hell can they start over after this?
Scott Walker not only survived the Wisconsin recall election, he defeated Milwaukee mayor Tom Barrett a second time by a greater margin than before.  Barrett proved to be an ineffective candidate, being unable to deliver a plausible, coherent message.  Walker was able to deliver a message you can put on the bumper sticker on the truck the governor is going to drive right over the unions.  The message is that public employees live the good life off the taxpayers, and they deserve to be taken down a few notches.  Now that public unions have been emasculated in Wisconsin, the Koch brothers, Sheldon Adelson, and the Republican National Committee are ready to decimate all unions nationwide using Walker's playbook.  They proved they can move their message with lots of money.
The Democrats managed to win a victory Tuesday night.  Democrat John Lehman defeated a Republican state senator, Van Wanggard, giving the Democrats a one-seat majority in the Wisconsin state Senate.  This could actually be the final roar of a dying lion, though.  It turns out the the Wisconsin state Senate won't be meeting between now and the November elections, when the Republicans might very well regain control of the Senate thanks to redirecting done by and for the GOP.
And life will go on no matter who is wrong or right.  If you think you're right, you're probably wrong.  If you are right, well, who the bloody hell cares?
It seems appropriate that Wisconsin, where the Republican party was born, will likely be the place where the Democratic party is going to die.
