Up To the Big Moment

The Democratic National Convention has slowly been building up steam leading to Barack Obama's speech tonight (which I'll comment on later). The attacks against John McCain have slowly been ratcheted up, with little said about George Walker Bush and Dick Cheney. With good reason, despite the pundits' inability to comprehend it: Bush and Cheney are the past. Why should the Democrats bother going after them anymore? They're not on the ballot on November 4 (thank goodness).
Much of the bad blood between Obama and the Clintons (and between their respective supporters) has been overblown, and some say it never really existed. It was just a largely manufactured story to give the media something to talk about.
They can talk about this now - Obama seems to be gaining momentum going into his nomination acceptance speech. A new Gallup tracking poll as Obama up by six points.
Best speech so far: Joe Biden's speech last night. Best line so far: Al Gore saying that while he believes in recycling, McCain's recycling of Bush's policies is ridiculous.
