Georgia On My Mind

A war has just broken out in the Caucasus Mountains as the country of Georgia has sent troops to take control over the autonomous region of South Ossetia, which has been attempting to break away from Georgia for years. The Russians are already sending troops to protect its citizens.

And Americans are obsessed with John Edwards's extramarital affair?

Oh, well, at least they're not paying attention to the nitpicking over Barack Obama's campaign tactics. 

Obama is under fire from John McCain for his possible lack of readiness. Once Americans do notice the South Ossetian crisis, Obama has to show a sense of what to do about it.

Meanwhile, in Beijing . . . let the Games begin. :-)
