Bon Voyage, Karl Rove (And Don't Come Back!)

It finally happened. Karl Rove, once regarded as Bush's brain, is leaving for home at the end of the month to spend more time avoiding subpoenas. :-D The resignation of Rove is seen by many as an example of how Bush's agenda has failed in light of the Iraq War and the 2006 midterm elections. True, Rove failed to establish a permanent Republican majority in Congress, privatize Social Security, or destroy the Democratic opposition, but he and Bush did succeed in their greatest goal. They destroyed the middle class. Geez, they obliterated it. Tax cuts for the rich, jobs outsourced to overseas, Medicare reform that pushed up drug prices . . .
Screwing up a war in Iraq certainly deserves criticism. But do something right and do something well, like create a whole class of paupers where the middle class used to be, and you'll get credit from me. Oh my, yes.
