We Didn't Start the Firearms

The White House has been trying to spin Vice President Cheney's hunting accident in his favor, claiming that Austin lawyer and victim Harry Whittington didn't follow proper hunting etiquette when he went to pick up a quail he shot and failed to alert anyone of his presence before Cheney filled him with ammunition. So, by trying to deflect blame to Whittington, they're trying to absolve Cheney of any responsibility. After all the money Whittington raised for Bush, after all his activity in Texas Republican politics, this is the thanks he gets?
George Bush doesn't care about rich people! :-O
Meanwhile, though, White House press secretary Scott McClellan was peppered himself by a birdshot round of questions about why the White House took so long to report the accident to the national press. This allowed the White House press corps to vent their frustration with White House press access overall. McClellan played dumb, something he does very well.
Since then, Whittington has had a mild heart attack related to the accident. I suppose that's his fault, too? >:-(
