At the Winter Olympics, Bode Miller is looking more and more like a Trojan horse; favored to win the downhill combined skiing event, he was disqualified after straddling a gate in the first run of the slalom course. The winner was another American, Ted Ligety.
WHO??
Ted Ligety is a skier who has no endorsements and is completely unknown. He mostly spends his time skiing as opposed to making headlines with outlandish statements about being wasted on the slopes. And yet, he came out of nowhere to win the dowhill combined. Guess the old adage is true - it is the quiet ones you gotta watch! :-D
