Time magazine has an article explaining how the movie Brokeback Mountain, about a pair of gay cowboys, became an unexpected hit. Like you really need to read an article for the answer. I got the answer right here: they're here and their queer, and the rest of us have gotten used to it. :-D

Well, that's the short answer. The long answer isn't much longer; Brokeback Mountain is a hit because it covers two topics Americans can't stop obsessing about - homosexuality and the West. :-p

And they could care less about geisha girls.
