Sir George Martin Is Eighty

Sir George Martin, the Beatles's legendary record producer , turned eighty today, and he certainly has a great life to look back on. It wasn't just that he produced some of the greatest rock records of all time; he also worked with Peter Sellers, thus producing some of the funniest comedy records of all time, and he also produced British pop icon Cilla Black, whose records, however acquired a taste her voice might be (particularly to Americans), are regarded as among the most glorious in all of popular music. So, a happy birthday to Sir George. :-)
Martin retired in the mid-nineties, and he's also deaf in one ear now. As Ringo Starr quipped, now he could only work in mono.
