Samuel Alito, my hometown's hero (well, we're certainly not going to wax rhapsodic over former West Caldwell resident G. Gordon Liddy!), has been before the Senate Judiciary Committee twice this week, and while there may be several reasons for confirming him to the Supreme Court, he couldn't seem to offer even one. He has, though, moved several Democrats - farther away from him!
Meanwhile, here's an update to an eariler post: Mariah Carey's latest album surpassed 50 Cent's The Messaage in the final days of 2005 to become the bestelling album of the year. I'm pleased and saddened to hear that. Pleased because more record buyers would rather hear real singing than rapping, saddened because the singing they chose was that of a woman who's all technique and no soul. And Mariah Carey actually passes herself off as R&B singer! :-O
