Several weeks ago I publicly asked Nick Lachey and Jessica Simpson to make up their minds about their marriage. Apparently, they've been reading my blog, for they did make up their minds; the marriage is over. Don't rule out a reunion, though; Nick and Jess are fast becoming the Liz and Dick of the millenial generation. Which says a lot more, alas, about the so-called "echo boomers" than it does about love and marriage. (For more on the latter subject, consult the movies of Ingmar Bergman.)
