Hillary Clinton has been losing primaries, superdelegates, and supporters - Donald Payne, New Jersey's only black House member - recently defected to Barack Obama - and yet she continues to grasp at straws, even urging Obama supporters in Oregon to think hard and change their minds about their vote. She sounds more and more like the jilted lover who goes to her ex-boyfriend's wedding hoping he'll come back to her.
Some people blame Rush Limbaugh's exhortation to Indiana Republicans to vote for her in that state's primary to encourage her to stay in the campaign and keep the Democratic Party tied up. Trust me, Hillary would still be running even if she'd lost in Indiana in a landslide.
Which is what Barack Obama is expected to do in West Virginia on Tuesday. But then, so what? West Virginia only has 27 delegates.
