As much as I like John Edwards and want to support his presidential campaign, I doubt he can get nominated, much less elected. But - if you need two good reasons to support Edwards for President and let him turn Bush's policies upside down once he's elected, by all means consider these reasons. The stock market is at an all-time high, while the U.S. dollar is at record lows against the British pound and the euro. Who profits most from these outrageous imbalances? Not you and me, that's for sure.
Meanwhile, Bush insists that al Qaeda is weaker than it otherwise would have been had we not invaded Iraq even though a national intelligence report not only shows the opposite, but suggests that al Qaeda may be strong enough to launch another attack in the United States . . . even though we supposedly are fighting them in Iraq so we don't have to fight them here.
War is peace, failure is success, and economic injustice is economic justice. Even Lewis Carroll wouldn't have found this Wonderland fantasy believable.
