England Under Water

It's raining in England. Yes, that's normally not news, but this time - particularly in central England - it's raining so relentlessly, several areas have been flooded, particularly the counties of Gloucestershire, Lincolnshire, and Worcestershire. Which are, apparently, worse-dis-year. (Sorry, couldn't resist.) Here in the greater New York area, we've had several dry days punctuated by spells of heat and humidity. It rained a good deal this past Wednesday, but such days are more the exception than the rule.
So, I doubt my English ladyfriend Therisa - living in New York City - will complain all that much about the weather here. I think she's grateful that she's not waterlogged like her countrymen are.
