Bloomberg For President?

New York City mayor Michael Bloomberg left the Republican party, and many political analysts think he's setting himself up to run for President as an independent in 2008. Bloomberg denies it, but he does coyly add that if he ever should run for the Presidency, he'll run to win, not to be a spoiler. Nevertheless, the pundits are all trying to guess when he'll announce and which party he'll negatively affect. But he has deep pockets and can easily spend a great deal of money and threaten both parties.
Meanwhile, it looks as though Hillary Clinton is going to be the beneficiary of a media love fest. After fawning over her campaigning skills for months, Chris Mathews wondered aloud if may be she might peek too soon . . . and then resumed pressing his lips against her rear end. Nothing demonstrates the media's ability to decide an election campaign before it's even begun than the latest Iowa poll showing Hillary in a statistical dead heat with John Edwards, who's lampooned for his compassion for the poor (Jim Cramer calls him a communist) and his hair.
Because of the aura of inevitability - and money - Hillary is about to be butt-kissed into the White House.
Run, Bloomie, run! :-O
