Why, why, why, why do immigrants who want to be taken seriously as potential Americans always protest for immigrant rights on May Day? The holiday is fraught with so many allusions to communism that all these people are doing is scaring Americans with visions of the politics of Hugo Chavez being brought to our shores! If they really want to make a point, they should organize mass protests on our own Labor Day, the first Monday in September. Not only would they seem assimilated, they'd be more annoying than scary.
I mean, what better way to get people's attention with a protest than to do it on a three-day weekend when folks are trying to relax? :-D
