My mother has a German mantel clock she's had for nearly 24 years. Recently it stopped working, so she had it fixed by a clock store near where we live. The owner told her that she had to keep the inner workings cleaned more regularly. We didn't even know the inner workings needed to be cleaned regularly!
Anyway, the clock keeps good time and chimes perfectly well. Except for one thing. The clock chimes thirteen times at one o'clock - A.M. and P.M.!
Maybe that explains a lot of the bad luck I've been having lately. :-O
