I Got Mentioned On BBC Radio 2!!!

Seriously!
Seventies rocker Steve Harley, who hosts a Tuesday night radio show devoted to seventies pop that broadcasts at 10 P.M. in the United Kingdom (5 P.M. in the eastern U.S., though I always listen to it later on the Web on the BBC's "Listen Again" service), takes requests on his show, and last night he took mine! I wrote in via e-mail that I was interested in hearing the original studio recording of Family's "Strange Band," which was released as a single in 1970 but never appeared on a Family album. (A live version of the song appears on their Anyway LP.) Well, not only did Mister Harley play the song last night, he mentioned my name and hometown! My name and hometown (alas, Justice Alito's hometown too) were heard on British radio in prime time! And I got to hear the studio version of "Strange Band" for the first time ever! Plus, I also just typed a sentence that begins and ends with italicized words, the first word a conjunction! :-D
Seriously, I'm thrilled that my name was broadcast all over the United Kingdom (and all over the world via the Internet), and I'm also glad I got to hear the original recording of "Strange Band." I'm going to hear that song again a few times before Steve Harley's next show on March 6, because I don't know where to find that cut and I don't know how to save the audio from this week's show.
