The only good news in the political arena I could find is that New Mexico governor Bill Richardson is running for the 2008 Democratic nomination for Preisdent. Richardson is a serious fellow with strong foreign policy issues and a solid background in energy concerns at a time when we need someone with expertise in both fields.
Richardson is something a novelty candidate on the surface, being an Hispanic politician with an Anglo-Saxon name (his father was an Anglo-Saxon, his mother a Mexican), and some people might not even notice his ethnicity because of his name. My mother was watching Tucker Carlson's MSNBC show and dropped her jaw when Carlson listed other reasons why no one would realize Richardson is a Latino; his lack of an accent and the fact that he attended Exeter Prep.
Has anyone realized that Carlson is an idiot?
