The hallowed Beacon Theatre in the Upper West Side of Manhattan is being given a major renovation by MSG Entertainment, the entertainment/media conglomerate that runs a lot of performance venues in New York. MSG, of course, stands for Madison Square Garden, and the company also owns the Theater at Madison Square Garden (formerly the Felt Forum) and Radio City Music Hall.
The reason Madison Square Garden is virtually the only arena in the U.S. that hasn't sold its naming rights to a major corporation is because Madison Sqaure Garden is a major corporation! :-O
