With the Democratic party having taken over the House of Representatives, and with the Senate going to the Democrats as well once it was decided in Montana and Virginia that the "Burns and Allen Show" would be cancelled (say good night to taxi-driving terrorists and "macaca"), you would expect the Dems to be in a good mood. They're in an even better mood. They also won a majority of state governorships, including New York, Pennsylvania, and Illinois (which means that the governors in these populous states will lay some groundwork for the party's eventual 2008 presidential nominee) and the party made gains in state legislatures as well. A lot of Republicans might want to think twice about keeping Karl Rove's phone number in their Rolodexes. :-p
