Before the Woodward book and the Foley fallout, the Republicans seemed to hold the edge in the fall campaign due to their ability to play up national security as an issue. National security, long a ruse anyway (do you feel safe in America, even when taking terrorism out of the equation?) has been pushed aside by these new revelations. But I'm still peeved that many issues I consider important are being ignored by both parties. How do you explain, for example, that only person who even bothers to talk about universal health insurance is Al Franken?
