At least one Senate Republican isn't happy with the deal struck on trying Islamic terror commandos. Senator Arlen Specter of Pennsylvania wants to look into suspension of the writ of habeus corpus because he feels it is unconstitutional, owing to the fact the only circumstances that would justify such a suspension are a foreign invasion or a civil rebellion - neither of which, Specter says, is present. Good for him. I hope he gets to pursue it. And, as chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, he has the leverage to do so.
