World Cup News

As I write, the Netherlands and the Ivory Coast are playing each other at the World Cup, with the Dutch leading 2 to 1. It's been a spirited game, with a couple of slight clips that have earned each team some rather sharp penalties. The Ivory Coast has kicked far more shots even though the Netherlands leads.
One game I missed but wished I'd seen was Argentina versus Serbia. Six to nothing for Argentina? What's this I hear about little scoring??
The U.S. plays Italy tomorrow. I'm not looking forward to it. The Americans have never won a game against Italy. I know there's a first time for everything, but I have a feeling this won't be it. If you're a Seattle Mariners fan, you know what I mean. :-O
