Oh No, That Memo!

The infamous Downing Street memo is finally catching up with George W. Bush. It almost got Tony Blair voted out of office in the U.K., but it went virtually ignored here. Now the memo, which suggested that intelligence on Iraq was "fixed" to produce the need for war, has been reported in the American mainstream press, thanks to the tenacious efforts of bloggers everywhere and the efforts of Representative John Conyers (D-MI), who sent a petition to the White House asking the administration to explain itself (don't hold your breath!).
It won't be brought up on CNN's "Crossfire." The embarrassment to political talk shows, which continued to run after CNN announced its cancellation, finally bit the dust two weeks ago after a 23-year run.
