Isabelle Adjani, the adorable brunette French actress who earned an Oscar nomination in America for her portrayal of Victor Hugo's daughter in The Story of Adele H. thirty years ago, turns fifty today. And even though she's not a big star in America, she remains a top film actress in France. Actually, the lovely and talented Mademoiselle Adjani would be a big star in America if more people here weren't too lazy to learn a foreign language (or at least read subtitles!) to appreciate her French movies and if she weren't cast in rotten Hollywood movies like Ishtar that only featured a French actress to zhustify zee OCK-cent! :-O
