Office Entertainment

I recently saw NBC's new sitcom "The Office," one of those newfangled sitcoms designed to reinvent the genre (think "Arrested Development"). Based on the British sitcom of the same name, "The Office" is about a paper supply office in dreary and drab Scranton, Pennsylvania. It's filmed like a documentary, with no laugh track. Former "Daily Show" regular Steve Carell plays clueless office manager Michael Scott with a subtle smarm redolent of House Republican leader Tom DeLay. The supporting cast is even quirkier. Needless to say, "The Office" is hilarious.
It won't last, of course . . . :-(
