Glenn Close is now playing Monica Rawling, the boss of crooked cop Vic Mackey in cable channel F/X's "The Shield." I don't get this. Can someone tell me why one of American cinema's greatest actresses has to slum on basic cable after hitting middle age while hip-hop star Dana Owens - I'm not going to call her Queen Latifah anymore - is being taken seriously as movie star when her only dramatic technique is copping an attitude? Hollywood needs an enema! :-p
