Veterans Day 2004

This Veterans Day, we honor all of our war veterans - those who fought to keep this country free, and those who should never have gone to war but did - because some stupid Texan in the White House sent our boys to fight and die needlessly for a cause that was never clear. All gave some, and some gave all.
Veterans Day marks the anniversary of the armistice ending World War I. At least we don't celebrate it on a Monday so postal workers can have a three-day weekend. (Actually we did celebrate Veterans Day on the fourth Monday in October in the early seventies, but that's another post.)
