In the news: New York Mets fans who get to watch their team on cable television may see Mets games blacked out if the team and the cable company can't agree to keep their deal going. So I guess Mets fans may instead be offered, for their entertainment, Alice Blue Jean and her magic banjo! (Unless you're a "Flintstones" fan, you won't get the joke. :-D )
Also, in Queens, New York - I am not making this up! - a white Bengal tiger from the Cole Brothers Circus escaped and roamed onto the Jackie Robinson (formerly the Interborough) Parkway. The tiger jumped on a car, causing a five-car pile-up crash, but thankfully, no one was hurt. The tiger was captured by means of a tranquilizer gun.
