Miscelleanous Bushwhackings

Katrina vanden Heuvel of The Nation has a sharp editorial in the latest issue of that magazine, pointing out how shallow this Bush recovery is and how it benefits only the rich. Also, she points out some grim statistics - one in seven manufacturing jobs lost in Ohio, our abysmal child poverty rate - and how Bush doesn't seem to care. Of course he doesn't - we got Saddam! Like, something else matters?
The Nation also couldn't help but notice how the foreign press saw right through Bush's Iraq visit as a publicity stunt while the American mainstream media made no observation of the sort. That's enough to put me in a bad mood.
So is the fact that ABC's "I'm With Her" has been pre-empted again - tomorrow's scheduled episode has been delayed a week - to make room for a Diane Sawyer interview with the Liar-in-Chief. "8 Simple Rules For Dating My Teenage Daughter" has also been pre-empted in the process, most likely angering that show's many fans.
I'd like to see less of our fictitious president, yes. I'd like to see him completely gone a year or so from now.
