Dude, Where's My Free Press?

Here's more evidence that the press has been soft on the George W. Bush White House. Three weeks ago, the media were doing all kinds of stories on the outing of antiwar diplomat Joseph Wilson's wife as a CIA secret agent. (As a result, Valerie Plame, Wilson's better half, has, as Johnny Rivers would put it, been given back her name and had her number taken away.) This information was most likely leaked by a White House staffer. At first, this all became a very big story. Now, less than a month after the story broke. . .nothing. No follow-up investigations, no repeated calls for an independent investigation, no exposes of the leakers in the West Wing. . . nothing.
Dude, where's the outrage? Why isn't the press pursuing this story further? This is a big deal - it kind of involves national security! If the Clinton White House had let something like this happen to embarrass a Republican critic of the Kosovo operation or something like that, the media - led by Fox, of course - would have been all over Madeline Albright and Samuel Berger like flies over a honey jar! Maybe there are times when you shouldn't criticize Bush while we're in a state of war. (Note - I said "maybe.") This, however, is one of those times when Bush owes us an explanation. Why aren't the media demanding one?
