I was checking to see if Martin O'Malley, like Hillary Clinton, Bernie Sanders, and several Republican presidential candidates, had any celebrity endorsements.
He has one.
Timothy Simons, who plays Jonah on the HBO comedy "Veep," is supporting O'Malley. That's it - and that's all. Unless I can find others, but I haven't been able to. Hillary, of course, has a lot of boldface names, while Sanders has up to 128 celebrity endorsements in all. And all Marty can get is a supporting actor on a premium-cable show, who has even less name recognition than the candidate?
Still, it's a start. And he'll have plenty of time to get more celebrity endorsements if he can get the momentum from Iowa and New Hampshire that he needs. But O'Malley, like any other candidate, has to be careful of which pop stars and Hollywood actors he gets to back him. Some of them might not be good allies to have and might work against him. After all, a person is judged by the company he or she keeps.
See what I mean? :-O
