Congratulations to bobsled driver Steven Holcomb and brakeman Steven Langton for winning the bronze medal in the Olympic two-man bobsled competition - the first Olympic medal won in the event by Americans since 1952. That's a 62-year dry spell. This comes after Holcomb ended another 62-year medal drought by winning the gold medal in the four-man bobsled competition at the Vancouver Winter Olympics in 2010, the first American medal in that event since 1948. I guess buying German (the sled was designed by BMW, remember) was the right call after all.
Driver Alexander Zubkov and brakeman Alexey Voevoda won the gold medal for Russia in the two-man event at Sochi; driver Beat Hefti and brakeman Alex Baumann of Switzerland took the silver.
What, you were expecting funny comments about the Latvians? (They came in fifth.)
