Twisting In the Wind

Okay, the tornadic activity that could have happened in New Jersey yesterday did not happen, and while there were severe thunderstorms around the general area, there weren't any in my immediate area - just a heavy downpour in the middle of the afternoon. The watch was canceled, in fact, forty minutes before it was due to expire. But the fact that a watch for a form of inclement weather primarily associated with the Great Plains was issued in the Northeast is frightening. True, there have been seven significant tornadoes in New Jersey since 1835. But we've had at least four since 1988. Climate change.
I don't like where this is headed, folks . . ..

Update: There was a tornado in New Jersey after all - in Paramus, in Bergen County. Paramus is famous for having a lot of shopping cneters - but not tornados.
