The Next Mayor of New York

I normally don't endorse primary election candidates, and I don't live in New York (nor do I plan to), but I really, really hope that Warren "Bill" de Blasio wins today's primary to become the Democratic nominee for mayor of New York City, without needing a runoff.  He has a strong progressive agenda at a time when the most progressive of American cities has been under the leadership of law enforcement and business types. Rudolph Giuliani and Michael Bloomberg did a good job in cleaning up the city and making it safe and sound, but there are lot of people ho haven't benefited from their right-of-center governing style, and Bill de Blasio is the man who can correct that.  The recent charges from Bloomberg that de Blasio has used his black wife and their children in campaign ads to connect to minority voters is "racist" (against white people?), and that he's trying to stoke "class warfare" with his populist politics means that he's doing the right thing.  So what if de Blasio married out of his race? If he didn't show his family, he'd be accused of hiding them for fear of losing white votes.  And so what if he's speaking out against the excesses of the rich? If not him, who will? Anthony Weiner?  De Blasio has nothing to hide.
Except for the fact that his real first name is Warren. :-D
Vote for de Blasio for mayor today, New York City Democrats.  He's a winner, not a Weiner, and you need a winner. May I remind you that campaign buttons from the last successful Democratic mayoral campaign in New York are 24 years old?
(Error: De Blasio's legal first name has been Bill since 2001. I regret the mistake.)
