Paula Done

Stick a fork in her.  After it was revealed that cook Paula Deen referred to black people with the N-word when saying it would be nice to have black people as servers at a wedding, dressed in "long-sleeve white shirts, black shorts and black bow ties" like in a Shirley Temple movie for a "true Southern wedding," it's not likely that she'll be back on television - either on the Food Network or anywhere else - any time soon.   Yes, she has her defenders saying that she's sorry and that she's apologized for using the N-word and all that, but perhaps these people weren't paying attention - she used the N-word!
And she used it to describe the role of black people at a Caucasian wedding.  She said she wanted it like in a Shirley Temple movie about the Civil War.  Even Shirley Temple Black herself - a former ambassador to Ghana - must have been aghast.
Anyway, that's not the only reason Paula Deen should be denied the opportunity to return to television.  Her recipes - loaded with fat, sugar and salt - include macaroni and cheese, deep-fried Twinkies, fried chicken and all sorts of mean, nasty, ugly, greasy things that are the reason so many Americans are way too overweight.  Keeping Deen off the air will not only improve the nation's racial dialogue, it'll bring the average American weight down by at least twenty or thirty pounds!
