It's only been less than a week into the Atlantic hurricane season, and there's already a tropical storm. Tropical Storm Andrea formed in the Gulf of Mexico, and its going to affect Florida's west coast. Than it moves northeast. . . to the Northeast, with the Carolinas and Virginia in its path. This means that New Jersey will get hit by heavy rain tomorrow, possibly up to four inches' worth. That's about the same amount of precipitation as snowfall from a blizzard.
Oh yeah, this is the second tropical storm to form since Hurricane Sandy; Tony formed right after Sandy but did not strike land. So, that means that, after tomorrow, New Jersey will have been hit by two of the three most recent tropical systems to form since the middle of October 2012.
As for the rest of the season, I don't like the odds.
