Give It Up

I have an idea for what President Obama should do about the economy.

You see, the only solutions he can implement with any congressional support are long-term reforms. But people need jobs now!

So he has to produce some short-term stimulus incentives. But that involves government spending in a time of austerity, and the Republicans will never allow it.

Private companies aren't going to spend their billions on creating jobs, no matter how much Obama urges them. Not if they don't think consumers are going to buy their products. Besides, they're investing whatever money they are spending in machinery.

So what's my idea for what Obama should do?

He should just quit and hand the keys over to Joe.

Well, maybe he and Biden can work it out with Speaker Boehner over golf this weekend . . ..
